Harvard students visit SKMCH
Lahore: A group of students from the Harvard Kennedy School, USA, visited the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) on Monday. According to a press release, the purpose of the visit was to give the delegates a sense of the vibrant civil society and the governance structure in the contemporary Pakistan as well as the scope of reforms in education, health and research in the country. Dr Faisal Sultan, the chief executive officer SKMCH&RC, gave an overview of the facilities and vision of the hospital. He informed the students that majority of cancer care was provided free to those who could not afford it and over Rs8 billion worth of support had been provided to patients since its inception.
